Cate Blanchett in Black Bag wears a symbolic ring.

An amulet ring that serves to develop Cate Blanchett's character in the film.

There's nothing like a designer putting a piece of jewelry in a movie, especially on an iconic actress like Cate Blanchett. When legendary costume designer Ellen Mirojnick reached out to Bee Goddess founder Ece Sirin, who she had previously worked with on Emily in Paris and Cinderella, Sirin provided the perfect ring for Blanchett's character in Steven Soderbergh's spy thriller Black Bag.

The character, Kathryn St. Jean, is mysterious; she wears masks and carries many secrets while trying to balance her personal life with her professional role. Her wardrobe is that of a simple, elegant spy, but there's also the Venus Star ring that both Mirojnick and Sirin discuss with us below:

Helen, why did you choose the Venus Star ring for the Black Bag?;

He had a strong presence. It wasn't just beautiful. It was iconic. The Venus star contains themes of love, power and inner clarity. These qualities were essential to Cate's character as we watch her secrets come to the surface and watch the mystery fade. And visually, the ring is unforgettable - elegant, sculptural and glamorous.

Ece, how did it feel to see Cate wearing the Venus Star throughout the movie?;

Unbelievable. The Venus Star is one of our favourite designs; it represents divine love and glamorous femininity. Cate has worn the Bee Goddess many times before - including our Eye Light necklace, pieces from the Queen Bee collection and the Sword of Light in her speech at the United Nations, which was a great honor. She already embodies the spirit of the Bee Goddess, so the ring seemed to belong to her character.

Helen, have you worked with Ece and Bee Goddess before?;

I worked with Ece on Cinderella as well. Her designs brought more magic and symbolism to this story. What I love about her work is that it's not just about style - it's about meaning. She creates myths with her jewelry. That's rare. And that's why I keep coming back.

Ece, please talk a little more about your jewelry. There is definitely a heavenly theme.

Our brand is based on celestial and symbolic language. Our jewellery is amulet - it is made for women who want to radiate their light. That's why they resonate in films and TV shows. Whether it's Black Bag, Cinderella or the upcoming Emily in Paris season in Rome, there's a common thread: They are strong, confident women, and the Bee Goddess becomes part of their story.

Ece, why do you think amulets and especially celestial jewelry continue to be a trend?;

People want more depth, soul and connection. Jewellery is our silent language - it says who we are, what we stand for.

Ece, what's the next step?;

We're back for another season of Emily in Paris, which is very exciting. And more collaborations with storytellers who understand the power of symbolism. For us, it's always about light, love and legacy.

Personally, Beth Bernst says I can't wait to see the movie. The ring is available for sale on the Bee Goddess website. So you can buy one before the movie even hits theaters.
