The Katerina Perez x Osmium Visionary Contest returns for the second time. As per a press release, Katerina Perez is once again inviting creative people from around the world to explore the design possibilities of osmium, the rarest precious metal on earth.
The first version set the bar high
The first edition of 2025 had an excellent global response. As we received 394 entries from 234 designers from 47 countries. Demonstrating how much the osmium has inspired the creative curiosity of the global design community.
The first prize was awarded to Indonesian designer Bernadette Yodia for her dreamy brooch «Serenade of the Moon». A design that captured both the mystery and the brilliance of this extraordinary material.
This year's awards
The first three winning designs will be awarded with crystal osmium worth €30,000, €20,000 and €10,000 respectively. Giving designers the opportunity to turn their ideas into finished jewellery. Using one of the most exciting yet innovative precious materials in the world.
In addition, a Public Prize of €5,000 will be awarded through a public vote. To honour the design that best captures the imagination of the wider jewellery community.
How to participate
If you are ready to take up the challenge, the format of the 2026 competition is deliberately left open.
For this year's competition, there is no predefined theme. The only rule is that osmium must be central to your design. Everything else is up to you. Your aesthetic, your idea and the way you solve the creative puzzle presented by this extraordinary material.
Designers can submit up to three designs, which should be presented as detailed drawings, gouache renderings or high-quality 3D renderings. Excellent presentation and clear thinking will be the main criteria for the jury.
There is no entry fee, however, the competition is open exclusively to Katerina Perez Club members. Designers participating in the contest can access a discounted annual subscription using the promo code OSMIUM135.
The jury
This year's international jury brings together a distinguished group from the world of jewellery. I am delighted to welcome Anna Hu as guest of honour. I will be joined by Scarlett Clauss, CEO of the Osmium Institute. Also jewellery designers Tania Chan and Myriam Soseilos. Also Berke Henny, winner of the second prize of the 2025 edition, and Nadège Totah, member of the Board of Directors of GemGenève. Together, we will evaluate each submission for its originality, utility and sensitivity to the unique properties of osmium.
