Mido Ocean star decompression Worldtimer.

Mido has launched the new Ocean Star Decompression Worldtimer, a vintage-style diver's watch. It is inspired by the Ocean Star Skin Diver model created by the Swiss brand in 1961.

The Ocean Star Decompression Worldtimer is presented in two dial variants. This is followed by the Ocean Star Decompression Timer 1961 Limited Edition which was released in 2021 to great success.

The new model incorporates the distinctive dial featuring a colourful decompression stop scale. Also with an additional GMT function and a bezel showing world time.

The exciting looks that hark back to the 1960s are combined with updated specifications and technologies. Such as a box-shaped glass made of scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and the innovative Calibre 80 (ETA C07.661 base) with a Nivachron anti-magnetic balance spring. With 21,600 vibrations per hour, this highly reliable automation mechanism offers a remarkable 80 hours of autonomy.

The first variant of the model features a navy blue background with decompression time circles in yellow, green, pink and blue.

The rotating bezel also has a blue aluminium ring with the names of the cities marked in silver. A red arrow indicates the travel time zone, contrasting with the flat and diamond-cut hour, minute and second hands for “home time”.

The uncolored Super-LumiNova is used to highlight the hands for hours, minutes and seconds and the additional time zone, as well as the hands and the dot on the bezel. Still at 3 o'clock, a window displays the date.

The second special version has a decompression table in gradations from yellow to orange. Mido's signature color, in black dial with matching aluminum bezel ring.

The 40.5 mm polished stainless steel case is equipped with a screw-down crown and a screw-down case back with an engraved starfish. That is a symbol that highlights the Swiss watchmaker's expertise in water resistance. So the model is therefore guaranteed to have a pressure of up to 20 bar (200 metres / 660 feet).

Each version is complemented by a rubber strap, blue or black depending on the version, and a Milanese mesh bracelet. But the strap and the bracelet can be changed very easily thanks to their bars with a movement system for quick changes.
