The shine at the 75th Cannes Film Festival.

The 75th edition of the Cannes Film Festival, as usual, was not short of glamour or big gems.

Every year during Cannes, Chopard presents a new collection called the Red Carpet Collection, always featuring unique pieces created by Vice President and Artistic Director Caroline Scheufele and the brand's team of artisans.

This year, Chopard has chosen to present 75 pieces of fine jewellery for the 75th anniversary of the film festival.

And, as a tribute to its 25th year as an official partner of the festival, the brand chose “Chopard Loves Cinema” as the theme of the collection. Thus a classic film serves as the inspiration for each piece.

There is a pin that pays homage to Charlie Chaplin's “City Lights”. Also a necklace that has a reference to Alfred Hitchcock's “To Catch a Thief”. Even pieces inspired by the Disney classics “101 Dogs of Dalmatia” and “Cinderella”.

Then there is the part of the week with the peace symbol. The jewel is inspired by the 1975 film “Hair”. “Hair” is an anti-war musical comedy film based on a Broadway production from a decade ago.

The beaded necklace features 263 carats of peridot, 135 carats of tsavorite and 130.40 carats of apatite. While the pendant is adorned with 30.24 carats of multicoloured sapphires, 15.9 carats of amethyst, 6.35 carats of tsavorite. A further 3.76 carats of rubellite, 2.18 carats of garnet mandarin and 2.02 carats of garnet speckle, set in 18-karat white gold and titanium.

A beautiful jewel that is a sign of peace and love. Concepts that the world could use a little more of right now.

New Bulgari ambassador Anne Hathaway, star of the film “Armageddon Time”, made an appearance in a white Armani Privé gown. She wore Bulgari's “Mediterranean Reverie” necklace with a 107.15-carat Sri Lankan sapphire necklace. Julia Roberts chose an elegant black Louis Vuitton suit accented by a 100-plus carat yellow diamond by Chopard.

The incredible jewelry Roberts wore is from Chopard's “Red Carpet Collection” of fine jewelry.
