For more than ten years now, the Nyon-based manufacturer has been dedicated to contemporary art. During the Hublot Loves Art event at Miami 2022, however, the innovation came not from an exhibition, but from the unveiling of a striking watch creation, the MP-09 Tourbillon Bi-Axis 5 Days Power Reserve Rainbow 3D Carbon.
The special feature of the watch, among other things, is the design of the case, which is 49 mm in diameter and 17.95 mm thick. So for the first time, they have decorated the carbon fibre with an exclusive coating. So it renders the setting we get with precious stones. This amazing feat was achieved thanks to Hublot's mastery of the composite material.
To coordinate perfectly with this stunning backdrop, it comes with a colorful alligator leather strap that closes with a retractable titanium clasp. The watch is produced in a limited edition of eight pieces.
As for the hour markers and caliber, they include all the features of the King Gold and Titanium models introduced in 2017. Also a large, off-centre dial displays the hours and minutes. In this case, the hour markers depict the seven shades of the rainbow. The entire dial is surrounded by two semicircles in which the date can be read.
At 6 o'clock, the slider makes a two-axis rotation. For one minute on the first and 30 seconds on the second. The complex manual mechanism consisting of 356 components also magnetizes with its performance. The watch has a guaranteed autonomy of 120 hours. Watchmaking is therefore an art!
