The connection to Schiaparelli is also made with the Toggle Torque necklace worn by Dakota. Elsa Schiaparelli owned one of the original renditions of the designs created around 1933. She even went so far as to model the jewelry for a Vogue Paris feature on Belperron's creations.
The big difference between the design that belonged to Schiap and the performance worn by Dakota is the epic brilliant-cut diamond from an old mine. A fancy pale yellow diamond weighing over 65 carats in the center of the toggle. The original version of the design has a pavé-shaped diamond sphere in the same position.
The way the important gemstone is set in the centre of the black lacquered Toggle Torque design featuring a diamond and platinum detail wrapped around the side shows that Belperron is still an iconic house.

The price for the piece Dakota was wearing is a staggering $2,750,000. Belperron also manufactures Toggle Torques in the same manner as the design that Schiaparelli once had. This for about 18 times less, which is still expensive but significantly less than the Belperron diamond.
