50 years of silversmithing and goldsmithing education in Stemnitsa, Arcadia.

The art that conquered time.

The Cultural and Beautification Association of Stemnitsiotes ”The Ypsountas” announced that it is organizing a two-day event on the theme of 50 years of operation and contribution of the well-known Silversmithing School in Stemnitsa, Arcadia. The event will take place on the weekend of August 8 and 9, 2026, at the Cultural Center of Stemnitsa.

The event will honor half a century of the historic School's uninterrupted educational presence and contribution. This is an institution that keeps intangible cultural heritage alive by connecting traditional metalwork with contemporary creation. On the sidelines of the two-day conference, Nikos Kaltziotis, an Arcadian, former New Democracy MP for Arcadia, and former Deputy Minister of Education (1980–1981), will be honored. He was the person who contributed to the integration of the Stemnitsa School into the Ministry of Education. Additionally, a tribute will be paid to its inspirer and teacher, Labis Katsoulis.

Tribute to the 50 years of the Stemnitsa Silversmithing School

Honorary Award Ceremony: The Board of Directors of the Association will honor Mr. Nikolaos Kaltziotis, former Member of Parliament for Arcadia and Deputy Minister of Education, as a token of minimal gratitude for his decisive contribution to the incorporation of the Stemnitsa Silversmithing School into the Ministry of Education.

Tribute to the Visionary and Teacher Labis Katsoulis.

Conference with the participation of professors and students from the Stemnitsa Silversmithing School.

Unveiling of the bust of Lampis Katsoulis, visionary and teacher of the Stemnitsa Silversmithing School.

His students, 30 years after his death, invite you to the unveiling of his bust in the school courtyard on Sunday, August 9 at 6:00 pm, to honor his work and his contribution to silversmithing and his homeland.

In cooperation with the Municipality of Gortynia and the cultural association ”O Ipsountas”.
