In a brilliant moment for the team and their city, the New York Knicks raised the Larry O’Brien Trophy. Standing 60 centimeters tall and designed by Tiffany. After the Knicks« 94-90 victory over the San Antonio Spurs in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, team owner James Dolan »didn't even wait to be handed the 30-pound gold-plated trophy. He grabbed it and raised it to the sky yelling," NBC New York reported. (According to Tiffany, the trophy actually weighs 29 pounds.)

«I want to say something to New York,» Dolan said. «Hello, New York, sorry it took so long! But here we are, and I hope it won't take that long again.».

The trophy was crafted in Tiffany's hollowware workshop in Cumberland, Rhode Island, over approximately seven months, the company reported in a press release. Tiffany artisans employ traditional techniques, including spinning, hammering, casting, polishing, engraving, vermeil, woodworking, and assembly, combined with new silversmithing technologies like machine engraving.

This year's NBA Finals featured some notable moments in the world of jewelry. Super fan of the Knicks, Timothée Chalamet, wore the Marty Supreme pavé diamond necklace. Specially designed for him, he wore it to the games as a «good luck charm,» according to Page Six. The actor also paired the piece from the Crown collection with a Cartier tennis necklace.

The bracelet was not the only rare piece of jewellery Robbie wore on the London red carpet. Her stylist, Andrew Mukamal, also supplied Boucheron pins from the early 20th century. It's worth watching this show that is «so bad it's good». Not just because Kim Kardashian and other actresses wear jewelry from houses like Verdura, Jacob & Co., Fred Leighton, Pasquale Bruni and Tiffany & Co. But also for the way the jewelry appears in the plot or reveals something about a character.

Hulu premiered the first three episodes of All's Fair on November 4. Created and produced by TV genius Ryan Murphy, new episodes air every Tuesday. These initial three episodes were worth watching all of them with the series. And they certainly made viewers (i.e. jewelry lovers) a fanatic.

Although the critics were «extremely negative» in their reviews of All's Fair, the rest of us love the incredible plots, over-the-top acting and amazing costumes - which include the jewelry.

Media outlets such as The New York Times, the Natural Diamond Council's Only Natural Diamonds and InStore magazine have already highlighted the event. Highlighting the diamond jewelry worn by the characters in many scenes. Only Natural Diamonds describes the All's Fair wardrobes as «power dressing» and one can't help but agree.

The All's Fair series revolves around an all-female divorce law firm. It stars Kardashian, Naomi Watts, Glenn Close, Niecy Nash-Betts and Teyana Taylor. Other celebrities appear in surprise guest appearances. Such as Rick Springfield, Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Elizabeth Berkley and Judith Light.

It's Light's character, Sheila Baskin, who brings perhaps the best jewelry collection ever shot for television. She's trying to divorce a psychologically abusive husband, and Liberty Ronson (played by Watts) comes to her house to help her.

The lawyer knows that all the jewelry given to her by Sheila's husband is her property. Their relationship was based on the exchange of jewelry for bad behavior. And the women are assembling the huge collection to put it up for auction. One particularly enviable piece: a dazzling vintage Verdura brooch with pink topaz, aquamarine, emeralds and diamonds.

Jewelry also steals the show when used as symbolic armor for the characters. Allura Grant, is Kardashian's tough but complicated lawyer. She wears a stunning Goddess Garden necklace by Pasquale Bruni in episode 1, looking very much like the bossy woman she is.

It's a fitting moment for Kardashian's character, who is catching the eye with her unique style. In the same episode, she wears a Roberto Cavalli dress backwards.

Another memorable and ridiculous scene is when Allura takes revenge on her colleague Milan (Taylor). Who is having a torrid affair with Allura's husband. Kardashian as Allura shows up at Milan's house wearing a canary dress that swirls around her like a storm of emotions taking over her, complete with a futuristic Constella necklace by Swarovski.

Spoilers: In this dress and necklace, Kardashian destroys Milan's car with a matching yellow bat.

Off screen, the cast was beautifully dressed for the premiere of All's Fair on October 16 in Los Angeles. Close wore jewelry by Neil Lane, a designer with a long history of dressing celebrities in diamonds.

Earlier this month, Sofia Coppola was at the Venice Film Festival to promote her first documentary, Marc by Sofia. The documentary focuses on the creation of Marc Jacobs’ Spring '24 collection and his creative process. The photos of the couple took me back to the early 2000s, when they were often seen together. Because that's how my brain works says Marion Fasel, they also made me think about how she has worn jewelry from then until now.

I'm perfecting a column in Jewelry Iconoclast about the stylish director for Sunday. So I decided to post this article from The Adventurine archives. An article about vintage jewelry in the film Marie Antoinette (2006). Sophia spoke about them at a panel in Venice.

He described that he wanted the sets and costumes to make the audience feel as if the characters were living now. Instead of making them look back on a dusty history. So it reminded me of how some ridiculous critics dismissed her historical riffs as mistakes.

Read below for my review of the jeweled film. It was originally published on The Adventurine in 2016 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the film.

Beautiful palaces, adorable puppies and plenty of precious jewels are part of what makes Marie Antoinette a dreamy modern classic. However, the depiction of life in Versailles in Sophia Coppola's film is not a literal repetition of events. As some short-sighted critics have felt the need to disparagingly point out at the time. The film premiered in cinemas on 20 October 2006.

I mean obviously. It opens with the Gang of Four's hit, “Natural's Not In It”, but also titles in shocking pink and black. Designed by Peter Miles to look like a post-punk album cover.

If the music and credits weren't strong enough clues that this was a variation on the past, the kind of blind casting of actors from many nations playing French roles without trying to imitate an accent should have made critics realize that Coppola was using the historical setting as a metaphor.

The young queen, Louis XV and Louis XVI are all played by Americans. Kirsten Dunst, Jason Schwartzman and Rip Torn. English, Australian and Italian actors play other leading roles.

To keep the audience on their toes, there is a cast that is inextricably linked to the events of the story.

Marianne Faithful, whose mother was an Austro-Hungarian baroness, plays Marie Antoinette's mother, Maria Theresa. The Austrian Archduchess and Empress of the Holy Roman Empire of the Habsburg dynasty.

The jewellery designer Victoire de Castellane, who is a descendant of the French aristocracy, was among the extras. There are also the locations. Most of the film was shot in Versailles, where, of course, the action takes place.

The mixing makes the film feel as modern as a period piece. A connection to modern decadence can easily be made in the party scenes. Listen to montages of shopping and a moment with the courtyard hairdresser.

The film does deepen emotionally, as Roger Ebert eloquently wrote. «This is Sophia Coppola's third film focusing on the loneliness of being a woman. And surrounded by a world that knows how to use you. But not how to appreciate and understand you.».

It's a flat film, but to get back to the reason for this post's existence - the jewels are divine.

The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony took place on Sunday at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles.

Comedian Nate Bargatze hosted the show. He took a unique tactic to prevent the Emmy Award winners from talking beyond their allotted time.

He planned to donate $100,000 to the Boys and Girls Club of America. But the twist was this: take away $1,000 for every second a winner went over time. Or even added $1,000 the second a winner completed his speech before the 45 seconds allotted.

By the end of the show, $350,000 had been donated to the charity. Of that, $250,000 came from Bargatze as well as $100,000 from CBS.

On the fashion front, many stars (and/or their stylists) chose not to decorate their necklines with necklaces. Except for the notable necklaces worn by “The White Lotus” stars Natasha Rothwell, Parker Posey as well as Sydney Sweeney.

Here are eight of my favorite performances from the 2025 Primetime Emmy Awards.

Jenna Ortega

«Wednesday» star Jenna Ortega has been awarded the Emmy for the second female lead in a drama series. She wore a Givenchy top made entirely of giant jewels and crystals.

She complemented her outfits with jewellery and pieces of 18-carat rose gold from Pomellato's «Nudo» collection. .

Her «Nudo» bracelet had prasiolite and diamonds. Combined with a prasiolite ring and an 18 carat white gold diamond ring.

Her earrings were a mismatched pair. With a «Nudo» earring with white topaz and diamond and another «Nudo» earring with blue topaz and diamond.

Hannah Einbinder and Jean Smart 

Hannah Einbinder won the Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for the HBO Max series ’Hacks“. She wore a pair of Marco Bicego's white gold and diamond earrings and rings.

In her Louis Vuitton dress, Einbinder and a number of other celebrities, including Nicole Ansari, Alexandrea Shipp, Megan Stalter and Aimee Lou Wood, wore an Artists4Ceasefire pin. The organization is a collective of artists and supporters calling for peace for Palestinians and Israelis.

Her “Hacks” co-star Jean Smart, who won an Emmy for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, also focused on earrings, wearing 18-karat yellow gold earrings by Rahaminov Diamonds with white and fancy yellow diamonds.

She paired the earrings with an 18-karat platinum and 18-karat yellow gold bypass ring and an 18-karat yellow gold ring with white and fancy yellow diamonds, all by Rahaminov Diamonds.

Kristen Bell

Kristen Bell, an Emmy nominee for “Nobody Wants This,” also skipped adding a necklace to an otherwise bare neckline, wearing only Bucherer earrings and rings.

Wear the Bucherer “Inner Fire” high earrings and earrings with brilliant cut diamonds.

For her rings, she chose a piece from the “Rock Diamonds” collection with trapezoid and brilliant-cut diamonds, a solitaire from the “Joy” collection, a toi et moi ring with emerald and oval-cut diamonds and an “Eternity” ring with brilliant-cut diamonds.

While many guests at last night's Emmy Awards chose not to adorn their necklines with jewelry, those who did chose a pendant necklace, continuing a trend in jewelry from the Oscars 2025. Natasha

Rothwell

Natasha Rothwell, who was nominated for an Emmy for her role in «The White Lotus,» wore a necklace with her voluminous dress by Ines Di Santo.

Her unique diamond necklace by David Webb included a large emerald pendant and was paired with rings with emeralds, rubies, sapphires and diamonds.

Angela Bassett 

Angela Basset wears Lagos at the 2025 Emmy Awards

Angela Bassett attended the Emmy Awards in a Yara Shoemaker gown paired with Lagos jewelry.

She wore the brand's unique pink tourmaline and diamond ring in 18 carat yellow gold. But also a pink sapphire and diamond pear-shaped ring, both from the high jewellery collection «SML».

Bassett completed her outfit with the «Cascading Leaves» diamond earrings and the «Linear» diamond bracelet from the «SML« collection. She also accessorized with the Lagos »Caviar" diamond bracelet in 18-karat yellow gold.

Walton Goggins

Snakes, snakes and more snakes. It was a trend in Las Vegas and has continued, probably because this year is the Year of the Snake.

Walton Goggins inspired his Emmy Awards outfit from a scene in the third season of The White Lotus. Where his character, Rick Hatchett, gets high and releases poisonous snakes from their cage. Goggins later told Jimmy Kimmel that he was actually bitten by a snake while filming the scene.

His jewellery, a gold ring, a bracelet and a pendant, had the ancient uroboros motif. A snake eating its own tail, symbolizing the endless cycle of destruction and rebirth.

In the pendant, the snake appeared to surround a malachite disc.

The three pieces depicting a snake were combined with a gold watch and a ring with a seal.

Lisa Manobal

Lisa Manobal Bulgari time at the Emmy Awards 2025

Goggins« co-star in The White Lotus, Lisa Manobal, known to many as, Lisa from Blackpink, continued the snake theme. As a Bulgari ambassador, she wore the house's «Serpenti» high jewelry set.

Her yellow gold and pavé diamond necklace highlights a floral design on the snake's head. It is made of 18 pear and marquise-cut sapphires and two orange pear-cut garnets surrounding a 3.27-carat oval-cut garnet.

The «Serpenti» bracelet features a Mandarin Garnet oval and eight pear-shaped pink sapphires. Another 10 pink sapphires in marquise shape, two garnets in pear cut and diamonds in pavé in yellow gold.

The matching «Serpenti» earrings focus on the snake's head. With oval cut mandarin garnets, pink sapphires in pear cut, pear cut garnets and also diamonds in pavé in yellow gold.

Also, the «Serpenti» ring wraps around Manobal's finger with an oval garnet, pear-shaped sapphires, marquise-shaped sapphires, pear-cut garnets and pavé diamonds in yellow gold.

Brilliant Earth created this one-of-a-kind bolo tie necklace for Beyoncé. She wore it during her Cowboy Carter tour.

Beyoncé wore a special bolo tie necklace designed by Brilliant Earth during her performance in Chicago. That is, at the Cowboy Carter Tour at Soldier Field last weekend.

The design was inspired by her album «Cowboy Carter» and her personality as «Queen Bey». Fans of the Grammy Award-winning artist are collectively referred to as «Beyhive».

The one-of-a-kind necklace features a bee wearing a crown. As well as a 14.46 carat black diamond surrounded by 5.70 carat diamonds in 18 karat yellow gold.

The piece «captures her unique brilliance. It is a bespoke design that also reflects her bold western aesthetic,» the company said.

A 14.46 carat black diamond is set in the centre of the pendant.
