Commemorative 007 series from the Perth Mint of Australia.

The Perth Mint's 60th anniversary celebration of James Bond is shaping up to be a success, with the latest edition of the series incorporating diamonds.

The Perth Mint launched the series in February 2020. It has since expanded the collection to more than 50 pieces.

The latest piece was released on November 15th and was made in collaboration with the famous jeweler John Glajz.

The coin incorporates the official 60th anniversary logo, in white gold with a pavé setting of 0.24 carat white diamonds. It has been set within the iconic 007 gun logo and is priced at $30,000.

The 60th Years of Bond 2022 coins are officially licensed and made from 5 ounces of 99.99% gold with white gold accents, with a white diamond pavé set logo.

Neil Vance, general manager of the Perth Mint, said it is a project that has been very popular over the past two years.

“The 60th anniversary Bond coins were very well received. So a lot of coins are sold out or close to being sold out,” he said.

“The 60th anniversary series includes gold and silver bullion coins and gold and silver proof rectangular coins. Even a stunning two ounce silver gold plated coin and the impressive 5 ounce gold proof diamond coin with pave-set diamonds.

Each coin is accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity and presented in a branded case inside a protective box.

“Since the launch of the programme, we have released more than 50 products under the programme. So among the highlights we find the official collection of 25 James Bond Official coins celebrating each of the 25 Bond blockbusters. Also many sold out releases, such as Sean Connery's one ounce silver proof coin. Even the quarter ounce gold proof James Bond coin and numerous sold out bullion releases.”.

James Bond started from a novel written by author Ian Fleming in 1953. But it soon became one of the biggest movie franchises in the world. Fleming wrote 12 books featuring the character before producers Albert Bromley and Harry Saltzman brought the spy to the movie screen for the first time in 1962.
