A track from her new album Midnights, Bejeweled is the singer's version of the Cinderella story, with Swift in the title role.
The Bulgari piece joins the fairy tale with Swift as Cinderella. So from a scruffy virgin scrubbing the floor she becomes the bejeweled and jeweled beauty of the ball. The necklace appears out of nowhere and hangs around her neck.
With 18-carat pink gold construction and a rainbow of 19 coloured gemstones. Pear-shaped stones weighing a total of 57.13 carats and over 20 carats of diamonds, a mix of round brilliants and pavé diamonds.
The necklace is part of Bulgari's “Magnifica” high jewellery collection, released in 2021.
In a recent episode of Paul Zimnisky's podcast with JCK news director Rob Bates, the analyst argues that the volume of jewelry in “Bejeweled” could boost the industry.
“This matters for diamonds,” Zimnisky said. “Someone like her has the power to keep diamonds relevant almost single-handedly, given her reach and influence. Can you imagine if the NDC could afford her as a campaign person?”
(The current face of the Natural Diamond Council campaign is British actress Lily James).
“This could be an important situation for the jewellery industry. He could be the number one most influential celebrity in the world right now.”.
But, as Zimnisky pointed out, it's actually not the first time the superstar has done a jeweled video.
It's also not the first time she's worn Bulgari. The video for her 2017 hit “Look What You Made Me Do” featured so much jewelry. Author and jewelry historian Marion Fasel wrote a story about it, describing it as a ’treasure trove of jewels.“.
In that video, Swift soaks in a tub of (probably not real) diamonds. She's also wearing stacks of Neil Lane and wearing another major Bulgari necklace. A gold Serpenti necklace with more than 10 carats of diamonds and 71 rubies.
