As only 500 pieces of the new TAG Heuer limited edition watch will be available, Monaco fans will have to hurry.
The new TAG Heuer Monaco Purple Dial Limited Edition offers one of the most immediately striking Monaco looks in the collection. With unique and vibrant colour and a connection to the early days of the Monaco series.
It has a 39 mm square case made of machined and polished steel. It also has a purple degraded dial, which is light in the center to dark at the edges.
The Swiss watchmaker noted that the watch is based on the Heuer Monaco Reference 1113B launched in 1969 and the 1533 Calibre 15. So over time, the blue paint of the watches on a brass dial tended to patinate. So they displayed a lighter colour in the centre and a darker colour at the edges.
The effect is intentional in the Monaco Purple Dial Limited Edition. That's why it has purple details everywhere.
At first glance, the TAG Heuer Monaco Monaco Purple Dial Limited Edition's black alligator leather strap is quite ordinary. But it makes it stand out with a striking purple leather lining.
The inner workings of the Calibre Heuer 02 chronograph are visible through the back of the sapphire case. It has a custom oscillator, column wheel and engraving with purple details.
Also on the back of the case they have engraved the version of each watch from the 500.
It also has a power reserve of 80 hours and is waterproof to 100 meters.
The dial has a black chronograph minute counter at 3 o'clock. It also has a permanent seconds hand at 6 o'clock and a black chronograph hour hand at 9 o'clock. There are rhodium-plated hands and Super-LumiNova-coated hour and minute hands.
The Monaco Purple Dial Limited Edition is available this month exclusively at TAG Heuer boutiques at a retail price of $7,150.
