Also in the art of gemology, jewelry design and jewelry making. The Institute presented the sixth annual Gianmaria Buccellati Foundation Award for Excellence in Jewelry Design earlier this month to GIA graduate Sara Guergova from the GIA London School. Also Cathy Calhoun, owner of Calhoun Jewelers in Royersford, Pennsylvania and Carmel, California. Also Remy Rotenier, jewelry designer and teacher of performance and jewelry design,. Also Shelly Sergent, collections manager of the Somewhere In the Rainbow gem and jewelry collection. Victoria Gomelsky, editor-in-chief of JCK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe evening was incredibly inspiring. But then to receive the Gianmaria Buccellati Foundation Award; it was truly an unforgettable experience for me. In a way, it validates all the hard work I've done over the years. It also reduces any previous self-doubt about what I can achieve,\u201d said Guergova. \u201cAttending GIA was a transformative moment in my life. I learned so much ... moving forward, the techniques and technical skills I've gained will push me even further.\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The prize is in collaboration with the Gianmaria Buccellati Foundation in 2018. It aims to recognize outstanding design talent among GIA students worldwide.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p> The 2023 Gianmaria Buccellati Foundation Award for Excellence in Jewelry Design competition is underway. It is open to students of the GIA's jewelry design course who meet the eligibility requirements. Upon completion of the course, students will have a handmade portfolio of their work and a digital copy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The course is offered at GIA campuses in Bangkok, Carlsbad, Hong Kong, London, London, Mumbai, New York, Taipei. Also in Shanghai and Shenzhen, China. GIA also offers programs in jewelry design and technology.
