The 98th Academy Awards ceremony included a new category. Some old comedy sketches and an exciting list of super-production films that were contenders for the top awards. Bringing to the forefront on Sunday were the celebrity gems. Featuring large diamonds, unusual coloured gemstones and acclaimed jewellery designers. Like James de Givenchy, who took credit both on and off the stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The top Oscars were split between \u00abOne Battle After Another\u00bb, which won six awards. Including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay. Both for Paul Thomas Anderson. And \u00abSinners,\u00bb which - much to the delight of the audience - won the Best Actor Oscar for the supremely talented Michael B. Jordan. As well as three other awards, including the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for director Ryan Coogler. But also the Oscar for Best Cinematography for Autumn Durald Arkapaw. The first woman ever to win in this category.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The awards for best performance of the night and the entire awards season go to Teyana Taylor from \u00abOne Battle\u00bb. She wore a black and white Chanel dress embroidered with her children's names. And a set of Tiffany & Co. diamond jewelry. She also wins the award for best behavior for her support of her fellow actresses. But also her enthusiasm for her film's multiple wins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the key trends seen at the Dolby Theatre were choker necklaces that highlighted the face. Such as the diamond \u00abDe Beers London Metamorphosis Summer\u00bb necklace worn by Chase Infiniti, co-star of the film \u00abOne Battle\u00bb. Elaborate earrings, like those worn by Rei Ami from Demon Hunter. David Webb's Sky Lanterns with emerald drops and streaked amethyst stones. As well as men's brooches, with an excellent example from JCK favourite, Kieran Culkin:. A two-piece Sauvereign brooch that was truly one of a kind, with hand engraving and guilloch\u00e9 finish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a 22.58-carat fancy yellow-brown Desert Diamond in the shape of a pear. As well as an 18-carat Arizona Blue and 18-karat ceramic and rose gold ring with a 16.54-carat fancy deep brown-yellow fancy diamond in an Ashoka cut, Botswana origin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a statement, Taffin's designer, James de Givenchy, said. \u00abIt's always a pleasure to see a piece leave the studio and take on a life of its own. Jewellery is meant to be worn and enjoyed, not just kept in a case. I can't imagine a more wonderful way to present them to the world than a beautiful actress like Rose Byrne on the Oscar red carpet.\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With two historic wins, KPop Demon Hunters won the Oscars for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song.
