Renato Cipullo has enriched his \u00abSplendente\u00bb collection with pendant letters in 18-carat yellow gold. Adding and hard minerals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The entire alphabet is available in mineral crystal or onyx. And the pendants cost half the price of their gold counterparts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This week's piece of the week is the pendant with the letter \u00abR\u00bb. Made of onyx with a 0.085 carat diamond set in 18 karat yellow gold.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Cipullo first designed the letters \u00abSplendente\u00bb in 1973 on a pair of earrings for his aunt. He later redesigned them as a pendant when the piece was passed on to her daughter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hand chisel the original pieces in silver, with clean, architectural lines. As they were refined with subtle curves, making each pendant both sculptural and fluid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, the designer has added pendants made of hard stones. That is a cautious response to the soaring gold price, according to the company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00abSplendente letters have always been one of our most sought-after pieces. So we thought carefully about how to redefine them while honoring the spirit of the era that inspired them,\u00bb said Cipullo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00abThe hardstone seemed a natural progression to us. Separate, unexpected and true to the 1970s. When colorful stones were a defining element of high-end jewelry design. It adds depth and character to the collection. But it also offers a more affordable price at a time when the cost of gold continues to rise.\u00bb.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

At the time of publication, the price of gold was $5,250 per ounce, according to AMPEX.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Splendente pendants in mineral crystal and onyx are available at a price of $4,950. While the 18-carat yellow gold counterparts are priced at $9,900.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Splendente onyx pendants are available on the Renato Cipullo website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Splendente edition of the collection debuted with the \u00abBlocco\u00bb and \u00abTrio\u00bb pendants.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The two pendants are also revivals of Cipullo's designs from the 1970s. Both feature hard stones with precious metal in the center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blocco pendants are available in mineral crystal or onyx with platinum. While Trio pendants use onyx, lapis or turquoise and 18-carat yellow gold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pendants are available with either black suede or cream colored cotton cord with diamonds that accentuate the edges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Blocco and Trio pendants will also be available in smokey topaz. As well as 18-carat yellow gold versions with a stone inlay on the back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pendants are priced at 4,950 $ and are available on the Renato Cipullo website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
