Heritage jeweller Faberg\u00e9 has unveiled its latest one-of-a-kind egg in partnership with Gemfields. The world's leading responsible miner of coloured gemstones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The precious object is called Malaika which means \u201cangel\u201d in Swahili, a language spoken in Mozambique. <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

It highlights the precious rubies (the birthstone for the month of July) that are responsibly mined at the Montepuez ruby mine in Mozambique. The mine is majority owned by Gemfields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The $100,000 from this month's sales will be donated to the Gemfields Foundation. A foundation to support community projects that alleviate poverty in Mozambique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In total, the Malaika egg is encrusted with 308 rubies, which have been meticulously accented with other rare gemstones. Included are 4,312 white brilliant-cut round-cut diamonds and 252 brown brilliant-cut round-cut diamonds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These stones are further complemented by 421 round pink sapphires and 61 amethysts set in rose gold. As well as guilloch\u00e9 enamel, which resembles the feathers on an angel's wings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In true Faberg\u00e9 style, a surprise treasure is hidden inside the egg. As the pearl ring at the base rotates counterclockwise, the egg's wings slowly unfold, resembling the wings of an angel. These five \u201cwings\u201d gracefully open in harmony to reveal a hidden gemstone.. A five-carat ruby, approved Gemfields mining from Mozambique. The ruby is encased in a rose gold sphere that resembles a filigree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The golden ball can be opened and removed from the egg. While the ruby is placed inside the object, it can be removed and placed in a special jewelry set designed specifically for the owner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
