What would you expect to find in a loved one's jewellery box? Definitely some family heirlooms. But what you'll discover is that these vintage jewelry pieces are back in style. This is with the rise of jewelry that is inspired by the 80s. They have come out of the obscurity of the last drawer and are one of the biggest jewelry trends right now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This decade is present in various areas of fashion. From the return of excess on the catwalk to the rise of the \u00abold money\u00bb aesthetic on social media. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, while various trends have become popular again, none encapsulate the endless elegance of the 80s like jewellery.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

No other trend embodies the extravagance in accessories that defined the fashion of the 80s. Like the oversized earrings, which are included in many S\/S 24 and F\/W 24 collections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, current designers have revived this trend, opting for sharp geometric shapes and minimalist styles. Look to Saint Laurent, Coperni and Ferragamo, making them easier to wear today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You couldn't flip through the pages of an 80s magazine without seeing women wearing big bracelets. <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Now the trends we have seen make a big comeback are not the bracelets of the past per se. But their new updated version. The cuffs, for example, spotted in recent collections are contemporary. Because of the way designers have played with proportions, shapes and styles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example, in Ala\u00efa's S\/S 24 and F\/W 24 collections, the looks were adorned with colossal circular cuffs in silver and gold. While at Schiaparelli, the shape of the accessories was a little more sculptural. Then there were the spring shows at Saint Laurent and Carolina Herrera. They used stacked bracelets with more streamlined silhouettes to add visual interest to the collection's looks. Each collection proved that this \u2018aged\u00ab trend in jewelry has undergone a big change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another jewellery trend that defined the fashion of the 80s? The long necklace. <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

During that time, it was all about choosing thicker chains or larger pendants. Then stack them on top of each other creating a striking look.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This maximal trend is a far cry from the simple jewellery we have seen in recent years. However, it could be a refreshing change from the aesthetic of quiet luxury that has prevailed for a few seasons now. The trend for long necklaces was most evident in Chanel's S\/S 24 and Louis Vuitton's F\/W 24 collections. As classic silhouettes were updated with the addition of layered chains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One could argue that no other era of fashion promoted such heavy accessories as the 80s. However, if a particular item could visually embody the aesthetic of that era. That would be the chain belts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although the style first became popular in the 1920s, chain belts were particularly popular in the 1980s. Because they combined two of the biggest trends of that era, bold jewelry and big belts. Although the allure of this accessory hasn't faded, it now seems to be making its big comeback. <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In part, this is due to the fact that belts have played an important role in the recent collections of well-known brands. They have been used to make even the most \u00abcasual\u00bb collection look more beautiful. Similarly, tweed suit sets were made a little more fashionable with the addition of chain belts in Chanel's spring and fall shows. All indications are that it's time to connect with this trend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By now it has become clear that the jewellery that defined fashion during that decade was anything but delicate. This is confirmed by another trend that dominated at the time: pearls. From the iconic looks of Madonna to Princess Diana, there was no shortage of \u201880s style icons. Like pearls which were often worn in abundance. While styling many pearls together may seem old-fashioned, recent collections have proven just the opposite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pearls took different forms on this year's catwalks. Like the earrings in Versace's S\/S 24 collection, the pearl necklace in Miu Miu's autumn show. Also the chain belt in Kimhekim's spring collection. As well as the over-the-top pearl chain worn over a black dress in Moschino's fall collection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While each designer differed in the way they combined pearls, each runway proved to the fullest that 80\u2019s fashion has truly returned.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
