There were stop-you-in-your-tracks necklaces, gemstones dwarfing gold statues and many male actors experimenting with maximalist glamour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Layering was something of a theme, as Emily Blunt - with Tiffany & Co. - and Charlize Theron - with Boucheron - both wore chokers paired with necklaces. The number of carats was huge. Between Gabrielle Union-Wade's stunning 31-carat aquamarine blue aquamarine from Tiffany & Co, Zendaya's cherry-coloured Bulgari rubellite earrings by Zendaya and Louis Vuitton's sunny yellow sapphire that shone around the neck of best actress winner Emma Stone. The stone brought a refreshing sprezzatura touch to her pale mint dress, also designed by Louis Vuitton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A David Yurman pin shone in the heart of Colman Domingo's black bow tie. While Barbie's Simu Liu secured his tuxedo jacket with a diamond De Beers brooch from the high jewellery collection \u201cImaginary Nature\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To accept the Best Actor Oscar for Oppenheimer, Cillian Murphy wore a custom-made pin. It was made up of eight concentric tables, recalling the shape of the internal components of J Robert Oppenheimer's ominous invention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was a great night for watches too. Michelle Yeoh paired her silver Balenciaga gown with a Richard Mille diamond watch and a pair of sparkly Cindy Chao earrings. Anya Taylor-Joy wore a tiny Jaeger-LeCoultre 101 Reine watch - a rare tiny piece on an evening full of big stones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
