Twenty-five years ago this month, The Sopranos premiered on HBO and revolutionized television fiction. The drama, created by David Chase, brought a cinematic quality to the small screen. In it he explored mob life and family dynamics with psychological depth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The celebration of this landmark anniversary is a testament to the Sopranos' lasting impact on pop culture in general. But also on television dramaturgy in particular. <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The fashion of the series - especially the jewellery and their style - also remained relevant. You've probably heard of the Mob wife aesthetic that is trending. Or you've seen it all over social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inspired by The Sopranos (as well as organized crime films like Goodfellas and Casino), the mob wife's aesthetic combines sophistication and extremity, embodying a mixture of power and charm. She features bold fashion choices that strike a balance between power and femininity - luxurious, tailored clothing, with rich jewellery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From oversized gold chains (see today's version of styling, known as neck mess) to diamond pieces, the jewelry worn on The Sopranos was a visual expression of the characters' lifestyles and extravagant taste, and added authenticity to their portrayal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
