Tales of the pendants
Designers continue to add new charms and meaningful pendants to their jewellery arsenal. So there are jewels that represent everything from the spiritual to the emotional. Pieces that symbolize guidance, strength, luck, love and work continue to exist in different incarnations and distinct designer collections. Elegant diamonds and gemstones coexist in a piece of jewelry and tell their own story. As they stole the show in 2021 they will continue in 2022 with their spread across all jewellery categories.
Chained
Chains do not «slow down» - even when gold is rising. They still make a splash. Whether in bright yellow gold, with a feel of old watch chains, or in rectangular oblong seventies style chains.
This season, designers are finding new ways to show off the chunky gold chain necklace. Jewellers are embellishing this classic look by gluing diamond links, incorporating semi-precious stones and adding splashes of enamel.
Chains dressed in colourful neon enamel, separated by diamonds and brilliants. Oversized chains with bright neon enamel clasps. The decorated chain is set to become the most worn item in the new season's jewellery collection.
Cricks with a «face»
Front-facing hoops dominated from the red carpet to the design studios. With diamonds or colored gemstones or a combination of both continue to be a staple. In the same spirit in 2022 we will see different cuts in stones or different colours mixed together.
River View - «Overlooking the river»
Rivière in French means river, which in the 19th century was translated into river of gemstones. These necklaces were popular from the 1800s onwards in various incarnations. Today they are worn two or more at a time, sometimes paired with a pendant necklace. They are also striking worn alone. Modern versions are often called eternity necklaces, as the stones go around the necklace.
Bracelets on the line
The bracelet once called a string bracelet in the 1920s with its array of diamonds or gemstones was popular throughout the 20th century in different sizes and gemstone cuts. In recent years versions have been more daring in combining stone cuts and clasps. Definitely, it is a piece of jewellery that suits every style and is an integral part of everyday looks.

From therapeutic gemstones to styles that resemble the «beloved beads» of the 70’s, beads are back and more popular than ever. You'll find them in different sizes, shapes, colors and cuts. You can wear them layered with other necklaces or alone with a pendant for a statement look.
Colours Everywhere!
Colour is the strongest trend and has been for the last three and a half years. It is becoming bolder, more vibrant and optimistic as we look to a brighter future. Forget minimalism! Diamonds are given a place next to their throne in a rainbow of precious and semi-precious stones. Striking hues combined in one jewel give joy by adorning fingers, lobes, wrists and necks.
Whatever your colour there will be a piece of jewellery that will suit you. From rich emeralds and coloured tourmalines, to sapphires and lapis lazuli. Choose colors that brighten your face and complement your skin tone. From dusty pastels to bright neon colors. For the more adventurous, there are jewelry pieces that showcase the gemological color spectrum in a single design.
Subversive time
This year's most sought-after watches prove that timelessness does not necessarily equate to simplicity. Hermès watches continue the house's eternally elegant aesthetic with their recognisable silhouettes on interchangeable straps though. You'll find them in a range of colours from raspberry pink and electric blue to bright yellow and the brand's signature orange. Along with straps in beige, dove grey, baby pink and bright red, the dial of IWC Schaffhausen's iconic «Portofino» comes in anthracite, navy or khaki. Charles Oudin's classic watches can be found with three different satin straps so they can be paired with any outfit. On the other hand, LA-based brand laCalifornienne specializes in ribbed leather straps for the Apple Watch. The palette contains everything from bright rainbow colors to pastel shades of marshmallows. There's an option for everyone.

The art of layering continues to dominate the jewellery world in 2022. What's better than a cuff? A whole wrist full of them, in every colour of the rainbow. Place bracelets next to your watch. Wear necklaces, pendants and chains to create a unique look. Combine multiple hoops and small earrings to create a glittering stack in your ears.
When you think that's enough then it's time to add a few more. Embellished chokers are the perfect starting point for a neckline dripping with diamonds, add a gold chain, a rivière necklace or a belcher chain with charm pendants. At the wrist, chunky chains and thin bracelets will create a stylish tangle. On the lobes, wear hoops of all shapes and sizes. Don't be afraid to mix metals, colours and brands to curate your unique, distinctive look. The beauty of this trend is that there is no right or wrong way to do it.
