By looking at the photo of a piece of jewellery you can decide if you like it, if you love it or if you are not interested in it.
But seeing a photo of the same jewelry on someone else allows you to appreciate it.
That was definitely the case with these tourmaline and tanzanite earrings from “Vertical Landscapes”. One of four mini collections of fine jewellery presented by Pomellato in Paris.
The Italian brand used its hometown as inspiration for all four collections. Thus the pieces in the Vertical Landscapes collection took their forms from the many shapes of Milan's cityscape.
These earrings, called “Giardini Verticali”, are adorned with a total of 52 green tourmalines. Six more violet-blue tanzanites in 18-carat pink gold with diamonds.
They have also added colored gemstones in emerald cut emerald to green titanium. This creates an elegant look that resembles tile.
But Giardini Verticali translates as “vertical gardens”. So it brings to mind the famous Bosco Verticale in Milan. Pomellato said that the colour and set-up of the stones, “create a striking mosaic of movement, colour and texture. The Gió Ponti building in Milan, with its glazed façade, is reminiscent of green tiles.”.
