Citizen unveiled the latest re-release of the CZ Smart Watch at the Consumer Electronics Show in early January in Las Vegas. It also introduced it as the “smartest smartwatch” and on social media. The watch is available to the public for purchase in March in either a sporty or casual look.
The sports model has a 44 mm case and a strap made of silicone, leather or stainless steel. Also the casual model has a 41 mm case and a mesh strap, stainless steel or silicone links. All models feature an adjustable dial, rechargeable battery and will retail for $350 and up.
The brand introduced the first generation of CZ Smart watches in November 2020 and upgraded it in the fall of 2021 with a hybrid model. Citizen says it will introduce a new second-generation hybrid smartwatch to consumers in the second half of 2023 with YouQ software as well.
For Eric Horowitz, CEO of Citizen Watch America and Wall's head of application technology for the CZ Smart Tripp, the newest version of the CZ Smart is revolutionary because of its exclusive “wellness software.”.
The software predicts the user's fluctuations. It allows NASA-based findings and AI models from IBM Watson Studio to provide a “built-in self-preservation advisor”.
“Citizen is a leader in the field of traditional timekeepers. But it's also been a leader in technology for more than 100 years,” says Horowitz. “Technology has been the soul of our brand for a century. So it makes sense to have a niche, a voice and a real point of difference in the smart watch market.”.
To take Citizen's game to the next level, Horowitz says the company wanted the best in science and technology. So it reached out to NASA and the IBM Watson Studio. Overall, the resulting watch is “next-generation and revolutionary,” Horowitz says.
The new CZ Smart smart watches include the exclusive YouQ app and the new CZ smart watches. The Commission will be able to from IBM Watson Studio. It was developed using research from the Fatigue Countermeasures Laboratory at NASA's Ames Research Center, Citizen reports.
For example, the CZ Smart YouQ app uses the sleep data it collects to synchronise with the user's daily life. This will provide real-time biofeedback. This and other data creates an Alert Score. It takes NASA research that determined an astronaut's mental acuity and adapts it to the smart watch user, Horowitz explains.
This NASA Psychomotor Vigilance Task Test or PVT+ allows the astronaut to then come up with a solution. Something Citizen through CZ Smart YouQ calls the Power Fix.
These Power Fixes suggest actions that help the user. So he compensates for fatigue, improves alertness or finds better habits. This, in turn, helps the user understand their day in a new way. Focusing on wellness, Wall says.
“It's a revolution in people's self-awareness and they want information that's actionable,” Wall says. “We know that having seen everything that's out there, there's nothing like what we're doing. So its about information that you can use to improve your daily life. We think it's radical.”.
Horowitz agrees. “That's what it's all about, your readiness and your ability to respond to the challenges of the day,” he says. “We're constantly learning. The more data we gather about you, the smarter you are. The smarter YouQ is, the better informed you become.”.
