1st prize in the Jewellery Making Competition.

In the context of the 30from  At the 20th PLE (Parlement Lycéen Européen) meeting, held in Valenza, Italy, from 5 to 9 May 2025, MOKUME Art Schools student, Vassilis Tsonakas, won the 1st prize in the Jewellery Making Competition.

PLE is a European organisation of silversmithing schools. 11 schools from 7 European countries participate in the organisation: Greece, Italy, Spain, Italy, Portugal, France, Belgium, Latvia and Spain. But every year, the meeting is hosted in a different country, where a Jewellery Making Competition and a Jewellery Design Competition is held among the students.

The theme of this year's competition was “30 years of PLE”. Participants were therefore asked to create a unique piece of jewellery that could be separated into three individual pieces. But three self-contained pieces of jewellery that could be united into a single whole.

MOKUME Art Schools participated in the competition with four jewellery and five designs. But they had the special honour of being awarded the 1st prize for Jewellery Construction.

This year's awards were sponsored by BVLGARI, and the first prize trophy includes:

  • One week internship at the BVLGARI factory in Valenza
  • The collector's book “The Gardens of Wonders”
  • A BVLGARI bag or backpack
  • A BVLGARI notebook
  • One BVLGARI bracelet
