Jewellery in green shades.

10 pieces of jewellery and 1 watch that contribute to ecological living.

Although we've timed this post on green jewellery to coincide with Earth Day (which was first established on 22 April 1970), our hymn to green could easily continue tomorrow, next week or next year.

This is because green in all its myriad shades, from lime to the colour of the forest, is eternally, constantly in the news.

Green jewellery owes its enduring popularity to two things: First, their pleasing and varied aesthetic range - below, check out the brilliant green peridot at the heart of the Aura necklace by Fuli Gemstones, the flawless mint-coloured tourmaline in Sonya K's Grace ring and the platonic green emeralds in Anita Ko's bracelet. And secondly, what they represent: above all, renewal, growth and harmony with nature.

So wearing green jewellery is a way to subtly signal your commitment to sustainability and environmental awareness (this is especially true for figurative pieces, such as Cocoerow's charming Kokoro stud earring, which faithfully represents nature). But wearing green gemstone accessories doesn't have to be politicized. Our love of colour reflects our innate appreciation for its soothing and relaxing properties. Go green!
